Welcome to Dominican University Sports Medicine
The Philosophy of the DU Sports Medicine is a commitment to student-athlete health care & education, We respect each individual, and believe each individual has a right to professional and comprehensive medical care.
Every student-athlete will receive a thorough evaluation of his/her problems by the DU Sports Medicine Staff. Each student-athlete should have a plan of care, which is coordinated by the DU Sports Medicine Staff and/or team physician. Each student-athlete will be informed about his/her plan of care and be involved in achieving his/her rehabilitation back to his/her sport. Every student- athlete should be encouraged to be responsible for his/her own safety and wellbeing.
Since the success of DU's athletic teams depends on the safety and well-being of its student-athletes, DU's sports medicine staff is dedicated to give the best medical care possible to its student-athletes.
The Sports Medicine Staff is a dedicated group of allied health care professionals working together to provide the best possible health care to the student-athletes at Dominican University. A major emphasis of the Sports Medicine Staff is on the prevention, evaluation procedures, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and student-athlete education and awareness on injuries and medical conditions.
