Dominican University Athletic Training

The Philosophy of the Dominican University's Athletic Training is a commitment to student-athlete health care & education. We respect each individual, and believe each individual has a right to professional and comprehensive medical care.

Every student-athlete will receive a thorough evaluation of his/her problems by the Athletic Training Staff. Each student-athlete should have a plan of care, which is coordinated by the DU Athletic Training Staff and/or team physician. Each student-athlete will be informed about his/her plan of care and be involved in achieving his/her rehabilitation back to his/her sport. Every student-athlete should be encouraged to be responsible for his/her own safety and well-being.

Since the success of DU's athletic teams depends on the safety and well-being of its student-athletes, DU's Athletic Training Staff is dedicated to give the best medical care possible to its student-athletes.

The Training Staff is a dedicated group of allied health care professionals working together to provide the best possible health care to the student-athletes at Dominican University. A major emphasis of the staff is on the prevention, evaluation procedures, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and student-athlete education and awareness on injuries and medical conditions.

Under the direction of Head Team Physician Dr. Victor Romano and Head Athletic Trainer Laarni Yogore, the Dominican University Athletic Training Team provides services to 11 athletic teams.

The Athletic Training Room is located within the fitness center in the basement of Igini Sports Forum and is available for use for all Dominican University student-athletes and competing athletes from opposing institutions only.
