Katie Trendel

Katie (Martin) Trendel, a 2004 graduate of Dominican University, was a Northern Illinois-Iowa Conference (NIIC) All-Conference honorable mention selection and team captain as a student-athlete at Dominican University for both volleyball and softball.

As a member of the Dominican University volleyball program, Trendel racked up 3,041 career assists, which stood as a school record until 2005. Trendel posted 500+ assists in each season, including a career-best 984 assists during the 2001 season. She currently ranks second on the Dominican University all-time service ace list with 202 career aces.

Throughout her career with the volleyball program, Trendel helped the Stars become a legitimate contender for a conference championship. In her senior season (2003), the Stars came within one match of the conference title and automatic berth to the NCAA Division III National Tournament as the Stars cruised to the championship game of the NIIC Tournament without suffering a loss. However, the Stars were then beat twice in the championship round by the tournament's defending champions.

In addition to her experience with the Dominican University volleyball program, Trendel has collegiate coaching experience with the university's softball program (2005-2007) and the Concordia University Chicago volleyball and softball programs (Fall 2005).
