Feb. 9, 2009 River Forest, IL - The Dominican University Department of Athletics welcomed sixth, seventh and eighth graders from St. Angela's School in Chicago to campus on Saturday for a sports clinic featuring Dominican University coaches and student-athletes from the men's and women's cross country teams, men's and women's soccer team and women's volleyball team. During the clinic, participants worked on skills ranging from passing a volleyball to dribbling a soccer ball as well as learning the importance of establishing a comfortable pace during a long-distance race. After the morning long clinic, the students were invited to lunch in the university's dining hall and then watched as the Dominican University women's basketball team posted a 60-50 come-from-behind victory over the visiting Lakeland College Muskies. During halftime of the game, the Stars' men's basketball team treated the university's guests to an autograph and picture session. |
