Polak Garners Honorable Mention For All-NAC Team

Junior utility man hit .316 for the Stars

Chad Polak batted .316 in receiving All-NAC honorable mention.

River Forest, Ill. - The Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) released the 2010 All-NAC Teams with Dominican University's Chad Polak (Westchester, Ill.) receiving honorable mention for the all-conference team as the only representative for the Stars. Polak, a 5'6 utility man, started 25 games for the Stars, making 16 starts at second base and nine in centerfield while hitting all over the Stars' lineup.

After batting .286 in seven at-bats as a sophomore, Polak posted a .316 batting average with 31 hits in 98 at-bats with seven extra-base hits. Polak was one of just four players on the Stars' roster to finish the season with 20+ runs scored and 20+ runs batted in. The Westchester native drove in 20 runs and scored 22 while logging a .412 on-base percentage with 12 walks and four hit-by-pitches.

Defensively, Polak committed just seven errors on the season in 108 total chances for a .935 fielding percentage.

The Stars finished the 2010 campaign with a 11-25 overall record. After opening the season with 11 wins in their first 22 games, the Stars struggled down the stretch, dropping their final 14 games of the season to fall to 11th in the NAC standings. During the losing streak, the Stars dropped five ballgames by one run.
