River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University men's basketball team fell to 7-11 on the season and 5-5 in the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) as the Stars fell to the Concordia University Chicago Cougars on Wednesday night, 78-61. Trailing by 17, 60-43, with 12:19 remaining in the second half, the Stars cut the Cougars' lead to nine with a 10-2 run sparked by a Jovan Turley (Grand Rapids, Mich.) three and capped by a Marquis Turley (Grand Rapids, Mich.) lay in. However, the Cougars scored 14 of the game's final 20 points to secure the season sweep of the Stars. The Cougars pounded the Stars on the glass, holding a 48-29 advantage in rebounds and grabbing 17 offensive rebounds. Senior James Morgan, a 6'6" forward, handled the Stars for 23 points and a game-high 16 rebounds. Marquis Turley paced the Stars' offense with a game-high 25 points on 9-of-17 shooting from the field while logging 37 minutes. The Stars sit idle this weekend and will travel to Wisconsin Lutheran College on Tuesday, February 2, for a game against the Warriors. Tipoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. in WLC's REX Complex. |
