River Forest, IL - Sophomore Milos Mandic's (Munster, IN) three at the end of regulation came up short as the Dominican University men's basketball team fell to Millikin University 63-62 on Saturday evening. Sophomore guard Jovan Turley (Grand Rapids, MI) grabbed Mandic's miss and scored the game's final bucket as time expired to pull the Stars to within one after trailing by as many as 11 points during the game's final 20 minutes.

Turley scored 18 points to lead the Stars in the losing effort on 5-for-11 shooting from the field, including shooting at a 2-for-5 clip from three-point land, and going 6-for-8 from the foul line. Turley also grabbed five rebounds and doled out four assists while turning the ball over just two times in 33 minutes of work.

Freshman guard Darrius Nelson (Michigan City, IN) scored a career-high 15 points in just his fourth career collegiate contest. The 6'2" Nelson went 6-for-11 from the field while logging 36 minutes on the floor in his second start of the season.

Millikin took advantage of a 18-6 run in the opening period to open a 13-point lead at 23-10 with under seven minutes to play in the first half and never looked back, weathering an 18-9 run by the Stars over the game's final seven and a half minutes to hold on for the one-point win.

The loss drops the Stars to 1-3 on the season. Dominican will travel to De Pere, Wis., on Tuesday to take on the St. Norbert College Green Knights. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. with live stats being streamed on the dustars.com website.
