River Forest, Ill. - The Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) released the 2007-2008 Men's Basketball Preseason Coaches' Poll today with the Stars picked to finish third in the conference standings, receiving 115 points out of 144 possible points, finishing behind Preseason number one Aurora University and number two Edgewood College.

The Stars will look to capitalize off of their successful 2006-2007 campaign in which the team posted a 17-10 overall record, winning 10 of their final 13 games and advancing to the semifinals of the NAC Men's Basketball Tournament. For their efforts, the Stars logged the most successful season in the history of the program since the 1991-1992 season and hosted their first conference tournament contest since the 1992-1993 season.

Experience will be a huge factor for the Stars this season, returning 11 letterwinners to Head Coach Mark White's squad from the 2006-2007, including seven seniors and three juniors.

The Stars' top returner is 6'8" senior forward Mike Haiduc (Chicago, IL). Haiduc averaged a team-high 15.7 points and 6.8 rebounds per game last season and has scored 1,006 points and grabbed 459 rebounds over his three-year career.

In addition to Haiduc, the Stars return senior Jose Garcia (Kenosha, WI), the team's second-leading scorer last season at 13.8 points per contest, senior Rashim Lettsome (Waukegan, IL) and junior Dan Borys (Crown Point, IN) all of whom started at least 19 games for Dominican last season.

Other returners include Andre Smith (Cleveland, OH), Chris Elkin (Geneva, IL), Matt Stahl (Manitowoc, WI), Kendall Moore (Orland Hills, IL), Troy Tonsil (Chicago, IL), Ed Kuprys (Riverside, IL) and Kyle Tipton (Milwaukee, WI).

The Stars newcomers are led by Jovan Turley (Grand Rapids, MI), Marvin Jeter (Lynwood, IL) and Milos Mandic (Munster, IN).
