Box Score

River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University men's soccer team's 15-game unbeaten streak was snapped yesterday with a 1-0 loss at the hands of the UW-Whitewater Warhawks, ranked fifth in the region in the NCAA Division III Regional polls released yesterday.

The game's lone goal was scored in the 57th minute by Whitewater's Ryan Richgels, a 6'2" freshman.

The wind definitely played a role in the game, with the Stars, playing with the wind at their backs in the first half, holding a 6-2 advantage in shots and 5-0 advantage in corner kicks in the half but surrendering nine shots in the second half while only managing two shots and one corner.

The loss dropped the Stars to 14-3-1 on the season with the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) Men's Soccer Tournament next week. The Stars, the tournament's top seed, will sit idle in the first round and host a semifinal match up on Wednesday, October 31. If the Stars win, they will then host the 2007 NAC Men's Soccer Tournament Championship on Saturday afternoon. Game times are yet to be determined.
