River Forest, Ill. - Dominican University's Juan Saldana (O'Fallon, MO), a 5'10" midfielder, was named the Student-Athlete of the Week for men's soccer by the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC). Saldana, a sophomore from Chaminade College Prep, scored five goals and tallied two assists for the Stars last week as Dominican logged back-to-back 8-0 wins in NAC action last week.

In the Stars' win over MSOE on Saturday, Saldana netted four goals, three coming in a ten minute span, and assisted on another goal as the Stars clinched the 2007 NAC Men's Soccer Regular Season Championship, their second in as many years and third straight conference championship.

Since returning to the Stars' lineup on Sunday, October 14, the Stars are 3-0-0 with wins over MSOE, Concordia University Chicago and St. Norbert College. During that span the Stars have outscored their opponents by an 18-0 margin and Saldana has either scored or assisted on eight of the team's goals with five goals and three assists.

On the year, Saldana ranks third on the team with 19 points and seven goals and fourth on the team with five assists despite appearing in just ten games.
