River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University Stars jumped six places from eighth to second in the second NCAA Division III Central Region Poll. The Stars at 14-2-1 on the season are unbeaten in their last 15 games and stand behind just perennial Central Region powerhouse Trinity University (TX) in the poll released on Wednesday, October 24.

The Stars posted a pair of 8-0 wins in Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) play last week and have outscored their opponents 57-7 on the season. Through 17 games, Dominican boasts the nation's eighth ranked defense, posting a miniscule 0.41 goals against average with 11 shutouts. Offensively, the Stars rank 23rd in the nation in scoring, averaging 3.35 goals per game and led by junior Matt Kochanowski (Arlington Heights, IL) who is ranked 14th in the nation in points per game and tops in the nation in assists per game.

The Stars clinched the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) on Saturday and have just one regular season match remaining before the NAC Conference Tournament. On Wednesday, October 24, the Stars travel to UW-Whitewater for a 3:00 p.m. match with the Warhawks, currently ranked fifth in the NCAA Central Region Poll.
