River Forest, IL - The Dominican University men's tennis team hosted Marian University and Wisconsin Lutheran College in a pair of dual matches on Saturday with the Stars emerging with their first win of the season, posting an 8-1 win over WLC after falling to Marian 5-4 in Dominican's morning match.

The Stars' four, five and six singles competitors swept their respective flights on the day. Louis Hernandez (Green Bay, WI) won tight matches over Marian 7-6, 6-4 and 6-4, 7-5 over Wisconsin Lutheran at number four singles.

Joe Saraceno (Westchester, IL) was perfect on the day, winning both his matches at number five singles 6-3, 6-1 over Marian and 6-0, 6-1 over WLC and teaming with Matt Sarantopoulos (Mount Prospect, IL) to win both doubles matches as Dominican's third doubles team 8-1 over Marian and 8-4 over WLC.

At number six singles, Dominican dropped just three sets all day, with freshman Marco Colapietro (Norridge, IL) posting a perfect 6-0, 6-0 win over Marian and then cruising to a 6-1, 6-2 win over his WLC counterpart.

The Stars now stand at 1-4 on the season and 1-1 in the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC). Dominican will return to action on Wednesday, April 8, as the Stars travel to neighborhood rival Concordia University Chicago to take on the Cougars in NAC play. Dominican will then host Eureka College on Thursday for a 4:00 p.m. match.
