River Forest, Ill. - The Department of Athletics named Joe Segreti, of the men's tennis team, the 2006-2007 Dominican University Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The awards, both male and female, were announced at the university's Athletics Awards Ceremony on Monday, April 30.

Segreti earned his Bachelor of Arts in English along with a secondary education teaching certificate from Dominican University while competing with the men's tennis team for two seasons and serving as a team captain and receiving the team's Most Improved Player award in 2007.

Student-athletes must be of senior status and have a minimum 3.35 cumulative grade point average while at the university.
