River Forest, IL - The Dominican University women's basketball program honored senior Lindsey Trent (Frankfort, IN) before Wednesday's home game against Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) South Division front-runner Wisconsin Lutheran College and the Stars' 5'7" guard went out and scored a game-high 19 points in a 75-56 loss for Dominican. The two teams exchanged leads in the early going, but the Warriors used an 8-0 run capped by an Alaina Miller lay in to take a 35-27 lead with 3:30 remaining in the opening period and never looked back. The Warriors extended their lead to as many as 22 down the stretch thanks in large part to 12 points from sophomore forward Erika Laete in the half. For the Stars, Trent went 8-for-15 from the field while junior forward Jessica Salinas (Bolingbrook, IL) went 6-for-12 from the field to score 16 points. Salinas also grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds for the double-double effort but Dominican was outdone on the glass 43-36 including surrendering 20 offensive rebounds to the Warriors. The Warriors shot over 41 percent (30-72) from the field, led by Rachel Johnson who went 7-for-13 from the field and shared game-high honors with 17 points with Kristen Dillon. Laete finished the night with 12 points while Chelsie Bylsma added nine points in 17 minutes for Wisconsin Lutheran.
