River Forest, IL - Dominican University's Megan Molloy (Chicago, IL) was named the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) Student-Athlete of the Week for Women's Basketball for the week of February 2-8. The Stars' sophomore forward posted career numbers as she averaged 22.5 points and 12.0 rebounds in a pair of NAC victories last week.

In an overtime win over the MSOE Raiders, 98-90, last Wednesday, Molloy poured in a career-high 26 points, going 6-of-11 from the field, including 2-of-3 three from long distance, and 12-of-13 from the foul line. With the Stars trailing by as many as eight points along the way, Molloy poured in 15 points in the second half, including a three-point play with just 32 seconds remaining in regulation that put the Stars ahead 84-83. The 5'10" Molloy then grabbed a rebound on the defensive end after a missed free throw by the Raiders to send the game into overtime.

Molloy followed that career performance as she was one of three Stars' players to log a double-double in a 60-50 win over visiting Lakeland College on Saturday. In the contest, Molloy took game-high honors as she scored 19 points and tied a career-high with 16 rebounds. Molloy went 9-for-16 from the field and grabbed six offensive rebounds as the Stars scored 14 second chance points compared to just three for the Muskies.

On the week, Molloy shot over 55 percent from the field (15-27), including connecting on two of her four attempts from beyond the three-point line. In addition, a career 48.6 percent shooter from the foul line, Molloy converted on 13 of her 17 trips to the charity stripe.

The pair of wins pushed the Stars into a tie for fourth place in the NAC South Division with Benedictine University, just a half-game behind MSOE for third, with five games remaining in the regular season. Molloy and the Stars will return to action on Tuesday night as they travel to Milwaukee, Wis., to take on the Alverno College Inferno. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
