River Forest, IL - The Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) released the 2008-2009 Women's Basketball All-Conference Teams on Tuesday with Dominican University's Lindsey Trent (Frankfort, IN) landing on the All-Conference Second Team. The Stars' 5'7" senior guard ranked in the top ten in the conference in scoring, assists and minutes played in conference games.

In 16 conference games, Trent helped the Stars to a 6-12 record in the NAC as she averaged 16.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game as she logged 37.3 minutes per contest. Overall the senior standout maintained her scoring and assists average while elevating her rebounding totals to 6.2 boards per game.

Trent scored 20-plus points four times on the season, including 24-point performances in NAC play against Alverno College and Maranatha Baptist Bible College, and scored 19 points five times, all in NAC play. In a 74-70 overtime loss to Alverno College on February 10, Trent poured 15 second-half points to score a game-high 24 points after returning from injury in the first half.

Joining Trent in the postseason honors were juniors Jessica Salinas (Bolingbrook, IL) and Angel Betts (Pontiac, IL). Salinas received honorable mention for the all-conference team while Betts was one of 12 players named to the NAC's All-Sportsmanship Team. Salinas was the Stars' second-leading scorer on the year, averaging 16.2 points per contest with 7.8 rebounds. The 5'10" forward also notched her name in the university's record book, as she became just the second player during the NCAA era at the university to score 1,000 points, closing out her junior campaign with 1,269 career points in just 75 career games.

As a group, Trent, Salinas and Betts helped the Stars to a 12-13 overall record, the program's best mark since joining the NCAA Division III ranks for the 2000-2001 season.
