River Forest, Ill. - Dominican University's Jessica Salinas (Bolingbrook, IL) was named to the Alverno Classic All-Tournament team following the opening weekend of NCAA Division III basketball.

The 5'9" freshman forward averaged 24.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in a pair of losses for the Stars. Coming off the bench, Salinas shot 17-for-28 from the field and 15-for-22 from the free-throw line, averaging 29.5 minutes per game.

On Friday night, in an 83-59 loss to the University of Dubuque, Salinas poured in a game-high 27 points and grabbed seven rebounds in her first career collegiate game. Salinas went 9-for-13 from the field, and added 9 points on 11 trips to the foul line. She then followed that performance with a 22-point, 8-rebound performance on Saturday afternoon in a 88-62 loss to Bethany Lutheran College.
