Jeff Halsema enters his fifth season as the head coach of the Dominican University women's soccer program. In four seasons, Halsema has posted a career mark of 46-29-5, going 32-11-1 in conference play, despite inheriting a program that had not had a winning season since joining the NCAA in 2000 and had only three winning seasons since the program's inception in 1997. In 2007, the Stars posted a 13-6-2 overall record, advancing to the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) Tournament Semifinals.

Halsema has guided the Stars to the conference tournament championship round twice, most recently guiding the Stars to the NAC Tournament Championship game in 2007. That year, the Stars posted a 13-8-0 overall mark and outlasted Edgewood College, the two-seed in the tournament, 2-1 on the road in the conference semifinals.

As a recruiter, Halsema continues to grow the squad size with quality varsity student-athletes after inheriting a team with just three returning players from the 2004 team. In four seasons, Halsema has coached 22 all-conference and all-conference honorable mention athletes, one conference player of the year, one conference rookie of the year and one D3Kicks.com all-region athlete.

Halsema has earned his National, Advanced National and Premier Diplomas through the NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America).

A 2003 graduate of Dominican University, Halsema enjoyed great success as a student-athlete, including being named the 2002 Dominican University Student-Athlete of the Year as well as the 2002 Northern Illinois-Iowa Conference (NIIC) Player of the Year in men's soccer. During his four seasons as a member of the men's soccer program, the Stars compiled a 71-15-7 record, including a trip to the NAIA National Tournament in 1999 and a trip to the NCAA Division III National Tournament in 2002.

Upon graduation from the university, Halsema served as an assistant for the men's soccer team from 2003-2004, during which time the Stars received back-to-back bids to the NCAA Division III National Tournament.

In addition to his responsibilities with the women's soccer program, Halsema also serves as the Athletics Facility Manager at the university and was promoted to Assistant to the Directors of Athletics during the summer of 2008.
