River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University women's soccer team surrendered a goal in the first minute to Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) defending champions Aurora University as the Stars fell to the Spartans 1-0 on Dominican's West Campus Field Wednesday evening.

Aurora's Jessica Novickas, the NAC's second-leading goal scorer, tallied the game's lone goal just 27 seconds into the game on the Spartans first shot of the game. After that, Dominican's Jacqui Lani (Green Bay, WI), a sophomore goalkeeper, logged nine saves to hold the conference's second-ranked offensive team to just one goal.

The Stars' Kelly Adler (Naperville, IL) had three shots for the Stars as Dominican was outshot by its NAC opponent 20-5.

Dominican returns to the field on Saturday, hosting Millikin University for a non-conference match. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Dominican's West Campus Field.
