Aurora, Ill. - The Dominican University women's soccer team played the Aurora University Spartans to a scoreless tie into the 103rd minute before Stars' goalkeeper Jacqui Lani (Green Bay, Wis.) dove on a ball heading for the Stars' goal. After conferring with his linesman, the center referee signaled that the ball had crossed the goal line awarding the Spartans a 1-0 win in double overtime.

Lani, the NAC's top goalkeeper with a 0.46 goals against average, logged eight saves on the afternoon as Dominican was outshot 18-9 on the afternoon. However, the Stars had a number of opportunities to score in regulation, including a shot by freshman Elizabeth Ficek (Bloomington, Ill.) that beat the Spartans' goalkeeper before banging off the crossbar.

The loss closes the book on Dominican's season at 10-9-0 overall, taking second place in the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) with a 9-2-0 mark and finishing as the NAC Tournament runner-up to Aurora on Friday afternoon.
