River Forest, Ill. - The Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) named Dominican University junior Mayra Camacho (Summit, IL) the women's soccer Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, September 16.

In a pair of conference victories in which the Stars outscored their NAC counterparts by a combined score of 14-0, Camacho tallied six goals four assists. The 5'5" forward from Argo Community High School, logged three goals and two assists in each of the Stars' wins last week, an 8-0 win over neighborhood rival Concordia University Chicago and a 6-0 win over Marian College last Saturday.

The Stars now stand at 2-3-0 on the season and 2-0-0 in NAC play. To date, Camacho leads the team in every offensive statistical category with seven goals and four assists for a total of 18 points. In just over two seasons, Camacho is currently the Stars' all-time leader in goals scored, with 59 goals in 43 games, and with her next point will move into a tie for all-time lead in career points. Camacho currently stands at 133 career points, just one point behind all time leader Carrie Simpson who played with the Stars from 1997-2000 and tallied 50 career goals and 42 career assists.
