River Forest, Ill. - The Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) has released the 2009 Women's Soccer All-Conference Teams with Dominican University landing six players on the All-Conference First, Second and Honorable Mention Teams and All-Freshman Team. The Stars boasted the NAC's top defense, surrendering just four goals in 11 conference games, with senior goalkeeper Jacqui Lani (Green Bay, Wis.) anchoring the Stars' with a 0.52 goals against average in NAC action, landing her on the All-NAC First Team.

Lani posted five shutouts in 1,300 minutes in goal for the Stars on the season, logging 54 saves while surrendering just 13 goals against. The Green Bay native logged 13 saves in the NAC Tournament posting a 1-0 shutout win over MSOE in the conference semifinals before falling to the Aurora University Spartans 1-0 in double overtime in the NAC Championship match.

The Stars' defense was well-represented on the All-Conference awards list. Sophomore Liz Phipps (Bloomington, Ill.) joined Lani on the All-NAC First Team while Katie Petty (Crystal Lake, Ill.) and freshman Michelle Yeager (Noblesville, Ind.) landed on the Second and Honorable Mention teams respectively. The trio represents three starters on Dominican's back line in front of Lani.

Offensively, freshman Kelly Petty (Crystal Lake, Ill.) earned All-NAC Second Team honors, as Dominican's leading goal scorer with ten goals in 18 games. Petty added four assists for a team-best 24 points.

Petty and Yeager were also named to the NAC All-Freshman Team along with teammate Adrienne Ryba (Roselle, Ill.). Ryba, despite missing four games throughout the season, tallied six goals and eight assists for 20 points on her freshman campaign.

Dominican finished the 2009 season with a 9-2 mark in NAC play, finishing in second place during the conference regular season and advancing all the way to the NAC Tournament Championship match for the second time in three seasons.
