River Forest, IL - Abbey Bullerdick (New Market, IN) helped the Dominican University softball program to a second place finish in the 2009 Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) Softball Tournament and for her efforts was named the NAC Softball Player of the Week for games ending on Sunday, May 3. Bullerdick posted a .385 batting average on the week with ten hits in 26 at-bats. The Stars' sophomore catcher blasted four home runs, including two in the NAC Tournament and two in the Stars' 11-4 win over Edgewood College in Dominican's regular season finale. Bullerdick's monsterous week included driving in nine runs and scoring eight. She posted a slugging percentage of .846 with 22 total bases and an on-base percentage of .407. On the year, the Stars' slugger finished with a .353 batting average with 17 extra-base hits, including nine doubles and eight home runs. Bullerdick tallied 34 RBI and scored 27 runs. Her .590 slugging percentage ranked third on the team behind junior Carolyn Rogers (Moline, IL) and Sarah Budz (Orland Park, IL). |
