River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University women's tennis team opened the 2007 fall season at Elmhurst College on Thursday, September 6, falling to the Blue Jays 5-4.

Eileen Shanahan (New Lenox, IL), the defending Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) #3 Singles Champion, opened the season with a win at the #2 singles position over Elmhurst's Sabrina Ruff 6-2, 7-5 and teamed with freshman Julia Filipski (St. Charles, IL) for a win as the Stars' #1 doubles team.

In singles play, junior Gina Cesario (Addison, IL) and senior Molly Nolan (Shorewood, IL) were victorious at #3 singles and #4 singles respectively.
