Anka Niemczewska was named the Dominican University MVP in 2006 following her freshman season. Niemczewska led the Stars in assists and tied for the team lead in kills. She was named the NAC Player of the Week on October 9 as she posted a triple-double in a match against Alverno College with 17 kills, 17 assists and 16 digs. From Vernon Hills High School, Niemczewska was a two-time member of the North Suburban Conference All-Conference team (2004, 2005) and named to the Daily Herald All-Area Team in 2004.
