River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University women's volleyball team cruised into the 2009 Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) Tournament semifinals with a three-set (25-9, 25-16, 25-19) over the Concordia University Chicago Cougars on Tuesday night.

Dominican's Darcy Kammeier (Kirkwood, Mo.) paced the Stars' offensive attack with a match-high 11 kills on 29 total attacks while committing just three hitting errors. The 2008 All-NAC First Teamer added a service ace and a block assist for a match-high 12.5 points while tallying ten digs for her tenth double-double effort of the season.

Freshman Jacy Lawrence (St. Lous, Mo.) and sophomore Kellie VanVoorhis (LaPorte, Ind.) added eight kills and seven kills respectively while Evelyn Gamboa (Chicago, Ill.) and Kasey Kiepura (Vernon Hills, Ill.) chipped in six kills and four kills respectively in the winning effort. As a team, the Stars posted a .322 hitting percentage, committing just ten errors on 87 total attacks.

On defense, senior libero Megan Moore (Glendale Heights, Ill.) led three Stars with double-digit digs with 14. Sophomore Kimberly Wakeman (Indianapolis, Ind.) tallied 11 digs to go along with a match-high 22 assists while Kammeier logged ten digs. The Stars posted six total blocks, led by Kiepura who compiled six block assists and Jessica Gallagher (Bourbonnais, Ill.) who tallied three block assists.

The win was the Stars' twentieth victory of the season, improving to 20-12 on the season. The Stars will now host the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons (21-9) in the semifinals of the NAC Tournament. The match is scheduled for Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the Igini Sports Forum.
