River Forest, IL - The Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) announced the 2008 Volleyball All-Conference Team on Monday night with Dominican University's Darcy Kammeier (Kirkwood, MO) landing a spot on the NAC All-Conference First Team.

Kammeier, a 5'8" sophomore outside hitter, led the NAC in service aces and ranked in the top ten in kills per game. On the year, Kammeier logged a team-high 286 kills on 776 attack attempts while racking up 66 service aces and 331 digs. Appearing in all 31 matches for the Stars, Kammeier averaged 2.51 kills and 2.90 digs per set and now has 692 career kills and over 700 career digs, well on her way to becoming just the fourth player in Dominican University history with 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs.

Along with Kammeier, Dominican's Megan Moore (Glendale Heights, IL) and Kimberly Wakeman (Indianapolis, IN) both received honorable mention for the NAC All-Conference Team. Wakeman, the conference's Rookie of the Year led all setters in the conference with an 8.49 assists per game ratio while Moore, the Stars' libero, ranked seventh in the conference as she averaged 3.97 digs per set, totaling a team-high 453 digs on the season.

Wakeman, a true freshman, also earned a spot on the conference's All-Rookie Team along with teammate Evelyn Gamboa (Chicago, IL). The NAC's All-Rookie Team lists the top six true freshmen in the conference as voted on by the NAC coaches.

Together, Kammeier and her teammates helped Dominican to its most successful season in recent history as the Stars posted a 16-15 overall record, going 7-5 in the NAC and landing the school's first trip to the NAC Tournament as the Stars finished the regular season in a three-way tie for fourth place.
