Stars Distance Project

Project Values
The Stars Distance Project is based on ten principles that make it different from many other college programs.

Place academics first
We are scholars, first and foremost.

Focus on gradual improvement
We are all about improvement in our workouts and in our races.

Trust moderation
We don't over-train. We don't over-race. We come to the starting line confident and healthy.

Pay attention to the individual
We flourish through personal attention. Our training is tailored. Our training is a collaboration.

Dwell on the race plan
We go to the starting line with clear goals and a race plan that will produce a confidence-building race.

Go after peak performance
We get the most out of ourselves on race day. We maximize on our talent.

Simplify to the basics
We don't need fancy facilities. We get it done with a pair of running shoes, a trail, and a park.

Believe in teammates
What really lasts in our sport are the friendships we make. The experiences we share as teammates are what we remember.

Honor the sport
We honor the sport by playing it the way it should be played: We do the hard work. We take no shortcuts. We attend to details. We pay our dues. We run with integrity. We let our races speak for us.

Run with passion
We put our heart and our soul in our running. What other way is there?
