Oshkosh, Wis. - The Dominican University women's cross country team placed 25th out of 34 teams at the 2009 Brooks Cross Country Invite hosted by UW-Oshkosh on Saturday, October 17th. More importantly, of four Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) teams competing in the race, the Stars topped all their conference foes, paced by defending NAC Individual Champion Megan Vaccaro (Oswego, Ill.) who covered the six-kilometer course in a time of 23:58.65.

Senior Jeanine Bentley (Downers Grove, Ill.) posted her best time of the season, placing 138th out of 466 finishers with a time of 24:16.03 while Jasmine Hall (Rensselaer, Ind.) posted a time 24:50.57 as the Stars' third-best finisher. Seniors Erika Espinosa (Wheeling, Ill.) and Andrea Rohrbacher (Naperville, Ill.) posted times of 26:42.24 and 26:58.08 to round out Dominican's top five scorers.

The Stars will have two weeks between races as they run at the 2009 NAC Cross Country Championships on Saturday, October 31. The race will be hosted by Concordia University Wisconsin in Mequon, Wis. Dominican will be looking to improve upon the team's sixth place finish a year ago.
