River Forest, Ill. - Colleen Newhart, the head coach for the Dominican University men's and women's cross country teams, will represent the United States Track & Field Association, as a member of the US National Team, at the Norwich Union International Indoor Track and Field meet in Glasgow, Scotland.

Newhart was selected to represent the United States based on the 2007 national rankings. In the rankings, Newhart placed 32nd in the country with a time of 4:17.08 for the 1,500-meter event at a meet on June 15th in Bloomington, Ind.

The Norwich Union International is set to take place later this month, on January 26, and features one athlete in each event from five nations: the United States, Great Britain, Sweden, Germany and a Commonwealth Select team.

"I am very honored to be able to represent the United States and I feel that I am in a good position to be fighting for the win," commented Newhart. "Ultimately though, it will be great to gain international racing experience, especially heading into an Olympic year. I will have a chance to figure out how my body responds to the travel and time change, and that is invaluable."
